Custom Cookie Order FAQs

Do you have a quantity minimum?

Yes. For custom cookie orders, there is a minimum of 2 dozen cookies. If you have an order that includes more than one flavor, the minimum is 2 dozen cookies per flavor.

How far in advance to I need to order?

Custom orders need AT LEAST 2 weeks notice, 3 weeks is ideal. Please know that supplies might need to be purchased and shipping times need to be accounted for, on top of the usual baking and decorating time. With that said, if you know the date of your event, please schedule your order as soon as possible. Even if you call me 3 weeks ahead of time, I can not guarantee that there will be availability on my calendar.

PLEASE NOTE Any orders with less than 2 weeks notice is subject to a rush charge.

How much are custom orders?

Every custom order is a different price. It depends on how detailed your set is. The more elaborate your designs are, the more expensive the order will be. With that said, the starting price is $85 a dozen.

What flavors do you have?

Unless noted otherwise, all orders will be the standard vanilla sugar cookie and my “signature” icing, which has a citrus flavor to it. I personally think simple is better, especially when you have so much going on in the appearance of your cookies. If you want more, all you have to do is ask. Our most frequently ordered specialty flavors are chocolate, snickerdoodle (cinnamon), blueberry, raspberry/lemon, strawberry, and orange cardamon.

PLEASE NOTE Specialty flavors may be an additional cost.

Why are custom cookies so expensive?

Like with any business, time is money, and cookie decorating takes a lot of time.

From the initial contact with a client, designing your order, purchasing supplies/ingredients, making dough, the baking process, making/mixing colors for icing, the actual decorating, the time/materials for packaging, and finally delivery, one dozen cookies take at least 12 hours with a lot of wait/dry time in between. The decorating process takes days. At $85 a dozen, that is less than minimum wage. That is not including cost of supplies/ingredients/materials. Oregon’s minimum wage is $13 an hour. If I were to charge for just the time listed here, I would be charging $156 a dozen.

Cookie decorating is a labor of love. I love being part of and contributing to your special occasions and memories. Cookie decorating makes little to no profit.
